Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction by best-selling author David Sheff has been selected for the 2016 one book, one community reading program. Readers are encouraged to pick up a copy of the book and participate in discussions and events leading up to the author’s visit to the Fox Cities on April 18-19, 2016.

OverDrive Update for iPad/iPhone: UPDATED

Important note for iPhone/iPad users: We are getting a number of reports of problems from iPad/iPhone OverDrive users who recently updated the OverDrive app to version 3.5.0. We are still waiting for more information from OverDrive. If you have not yet updated your OverDrive app, we recommend waiting. If you have updated the app, OverDrive has released a new update 3.5.1 on February 5th that has addressed some of the problems. To check your App version, open the app, go to the menu (tap menu icon or swipe right) and tap "About." If you are on an earlier version, wait to upgade. If you are on 3.5.0, try upgrading to 3.5.1. If you are having problems downloading titles, please contact your local library. We will post an update when we hear more from OverDrive.

New Update from OverDrive (2/12/2016): Here are some additional help articles from OverDrive regarding the i0S update. OverDrive is recommending that users deauthorize (then reauthorize) the app. More information and instructions below:

Book Award Winners

Each year the American Library Association (ALA) honors books and media for children and teens. The oldest and best known of these awards are the Caldecott and Newbery Medal. Check out our Children's Book Awards page our Award Winning Books for Teens page for this years ALA winners and honor books.

New Look for Tumblebooks

Our popular TumbleBook library has a clean new look, new features, and some new content. The main collection of story books is now nicely organized by themes or categories. There is also a language learning section with a few dozen picture books in Spanish and French. Some of the TumbleBook content can be played on an iPad or tablet, but for the full collection still works best on a laptop or desktop with adobe flash player. From outside a library you will need to enter your library card number and PIN to access TumbleBooks.

Notable Books of 2015

The end of year is a great time for best of lists and best books of are one of the most popular. The New York Times is one of the more well known producers of just such a list. A few weeks ago they published their 100 Notable Books of 2015, which includes 50 Fiction titles and 50 Nonfiction titles. We have tagged these in InfoSoup to make them easy to find.

You can use the Refine by Format section to limit the display to books, ebooks, audiobooks, or large print.
